How I earned Rs.9000 (9K) Balance on my Cellphone! for FREE 🙂 | Personal Experience

This article is a Special one for me by many ways!. First of all its the 100th post of TechApple Blog, and the second one today i reached Rs.9000+ (9K+) Balance on my cellphone that too for free!! :). I was inspired to write an article on this Personal Experience by my buddy Rahul Deshmane (Admin of CodingDevil.com) so a big thanks to him! for giving me this Idea so that all can benefit 🙂

So,let’s check out how i earned this much of balance for free! Let me show you My Mobile Account Screenshot –

As you see here currently its Rs.9006.97 🙂 and let me tell , that its not photoshopped, its totally real 🙂 . Now, let me tell you how i went about getting this much of balance in following Steps –

    1. Step 1 : Referring Friends for Earning Free Recharge – There are lots of Services which offer Free Recharges just For referring Friends – And I started with the same scenario and its quite effective too! for e.g – Mcent itself gave me Rs.6000  for Referring 300 Friends 🙂 . To know about Mcent and other services which can be used on Any Phone (Non-Android too) to get free recharges , Visit this Article .
    2. Step 2 : Installing Apps on Android Phones / PC Android Emulators – As i started getting money/recharges from referring, i started looking for More options to get Free Recharge and found that too is easy – Some apps, were giving money/recharges simply to install Android Apps through them! 🙂 .  all we have to do is install any of these apps and open them and install the listed apps denoted in the user-interface to earn the amount 🙂 , and amount will be credited ! But these can be used only on Android phones but PC users can use any Android emulator (e.x Bluestacks) to install and earn through the earning apps. I am also a non-android phone (You can check the Screenshot) 😛 and all amount I have earned is through Bluestacks!.
The Best 10 of Such Earning apps can be found here!

And that’s it 🙂 I simply did the above two steps and earned this amount! 🙂 . Hope this article will be useful for everyone 🙂  , and Ya, A Big-Big Thank you for Being with TechApple!!  You users are our power! and we hope to serve you in the future as well 🙂

    App No 1. Connect A2

Connect A2 app was the solution given by Intex when users enquired if their firefox OS based phone – Intex Cloud FX supported WhatsApp., and the answer is a valid one!
Though, Some users complained that Connect A2 didn’t work for them , I checked it myself in Firefox Simulator and it worked simply fine for me 🙂  (you can Check the alongside screenshot 🙂 )

Connect A2 supports WhatsApp protocol and features such as Personal Contact Messaging , Group messaging ,  Attachments sending and viewing , notifications basically all that is available in WhatsApp! as well as you can register your number too,if not registered with WhatsApp for using the App.

Overall its a worthy app, capable of replacing WhatsApp on Firefox Phones. for some reasons, if you cannot connect with connect A2 don’t get disheartened we have 4 Apps more for the same purpose 🙂 mentioned later in this post :).

Note : While Registering do tick-the Whatsapp Net Experimental option as shown in image, else the WhatsApp Chat Protocol won’t work 🙁

Click here to download Connect A2 App from Firefox Market Place

    App No 2. OpenWapp

OpenWapp is a Whatsapp-only client for Firefox OS, as it was built for WhatsApp only, its user interface is as clean and tidy as compared to Connect A2.I simply love this app for its Simplicity and clean UI, infact, i liked it more than the Official UI of WhatsApp Android App .

OpenWapp also provides all the Features of WhatsApp such as Personal and Group Messaging , Managing Groups , Sending and viewing Attachments, and notifications. Infacr this is my favorite WhatsApp Client for Firefox OS phones! highly recommended! It also supports New Account Registration, which is somewhat buggy in Connect A2.

Click here to Download OpenWapp from Firefox OS Market Place

    App No 3. Loqui IM

Loqui IM is a multi-platform chat client for Firefox OS phones, and it supports WhatsApp protocol too.., hence you can use Loqui IM to chat with

Some users found the UI of Loqui more good than OpenWapp, but not me 🙁 – it comes to personal choice 🙂 but Loqui, still is a great app to manage all the chats from a single app 🙂 . It supports all Whatsapp Functions and Notifications , however i was not able to check attachments 🙁 uploading of the app , still worth giving a try 🙂

Click here to download Loqui IM from Firefox Market Place

    App No 4. Yosapp

Even though at the time of writing this Article Yosapp is in beta, it features in because of the promise it provides .. Its a pure – Web App unlike the previous ones , and i was able to launch and run the Yosapp app directly through the Firefox Browser for PC without even installing the Firefox Simulator. hence, this app can prove to be a great solution for PC users with low configs,as it will present them with a very – light weight Whatsapp Client.

The first Beta of Yosapp contains a lot of bugs (No group support in Beta 🙁  ), and functions available are limited such as –

    1. Basic Messaging with Phone Numbers
    2. Image Receival
    3. Video Receival
    4. Adding of new Friends
    5. Deleting Friends
    6. Editing Friends
    7. Connecting with Whatsapp Servers.

    App No 5. Wassap

Wassap is yet another WhatsApp client for Firefox OS devices, it works pretty smoothly and is stable and supports many of the Original WhatsApp features such as chat function, sending emoji, pictures, receiving audio and voice notes, videos, pictures etc and creating groups as also getting notifications etc.

However , it does lack some features of the original app such as the ability to change subject of a group, seeing others’ status, getting real-time push notifications and adding/ removing people from an existing group. Let’s wish that the Subsequent Updates will add the missing features too ..

Update : The Wassap app is not visible currently in the Market Place 🙁 , hence, shifting this to the last rank will rank this App as soon as it becomes available once again .

Click here to download Wassap from Firefox Market Place

So , these were some of the WhatsApp Clients which you can use for using WhatsApp on your Firefox OS phones, and they won’t let you miss your favorite app 🙂 . Installation/Setup of Firefox OS Simulator on PC/Mac | Run/Install Firefox OS apps on PC (Windows/Mac OS/Linux) through Firefox Emulator

As soon as Intex and Spice had launched their new feature phones in the Indian Market , I wanted to purchase them for getting my hands on the new Firefox OS but at the same time their limited hardware refrained me from doing so.. hence, I started looking for Firefox OS Emulator for PC , and found that configuring the Firefox OS simulator for testing and checking Firefox OS is really quite Simple! So, in this tutorial I will cover all you need to do for Installation / Setup Firefox OS Simulator on PC , And let me tell you all we require is a Firefox browser for PC – So this tutorial will work for PC as well as Mac , practically any OS – Mac OS, Linux (Ubuntu, Fedora etc) ,Windows XP /7/8/9 all.. 🙂

    Prerequisites –
Mozilla Firefox 33 (Can work on Previous versions too 26 and later, but its really quite simple to configure and use in 33).

    So , let’s get Started –

Step 1. Installing Mozilla Firefox 33 on your Default OS

This will be our ‘base’ for running the Firefox OS Emulator/Simulator , at the time of writing this article Firefox 33 is in beta, but i have tested it and everything works simply fine! also i will update the links as soon as the Final version becomes available. So first let’s Download and install Firefox Browser 33 from these links according to the OS installed –

Download Firefox 33.0 Beta for Windows
Download Firefox 33.0 Beta for Linux
Download Firefox 33.0 Beta for Mac

Step 2. Navigating to the App Manager

App Manager is the one-stop destination for Coding  as well as testing Firefox Apps , its been launched from the Firefox Version 33, to Access Manager Perform the Steps below –
Go to Menu -> Developer -> in the list which appears select App Manager as shown in the alongside image –

Step 3. Adding a Device (Firefox OS Add-on)

    • Now after going to the App Manager , you will be greeted with a screen , showing apps and devices in the left pane . Here , select devices in the left pane and in the bottom pane click on the “Start Simulator” button as shown below –  Here, in the bottom pane , Click on the “Add” button (you can check the below figure for the add button ,The Firefox OS 1.3 shown in image won’t be visible to you, its shown in my image because i already have the device installed 🙂 for making the tutorial)

After clicking on the Add button you will be redirected to a webpage , there click on the “Install Simulator” button as shown below –

After clicking on install Simulator , you will be redirected to the Version select page of App-Manager helper, asking you to select the version of Firefox OS you want to install , here select the Firefox OS version you would like to emulate, in my case i selected v 1.3 as it was the latest Stable release shown in the image below –

After selecting the OS version it will ask you to allow installation of Add-On , please select “Allow or Install Now”  to allow the installation of Add-On ., Now wait for sometime till the add-on gets installed.

Step 4 . Going to the App Manager after add-on installed , and running the Emulated device

    • After the installation of Add-On again navigate to the App Manager as mentioned in Step 2.
    • Now , go to Device in the left pane , Select “Start Simulator”  in the bottom pane , now you will see your device name – Firefox OS version in bottom pane alongside the Start Label .
    • Here, Simply click on the Firefox OS x.x (in my case it was Firefox OS  1.3) alongside Start label , to start the device and voila! the Device Emulation will be started and your device will appear in a new Window!

    Step 5 . Done! 🙂

That’s it you have installed your own Firefox Emulator to run and Install Firefox OS , you can browse through the UI by swiping while pressing the left-mouse click , just as in Android Menu. also the deviee automatically takes the Internet Connection of your Computer, So you can start Installing and Running Firefox OS Apps, right through the Firefox App Marketplace present in the Emulated Device itself 🙂

Here’s a Screenshot of my Emulated device in action , its in-built Music app, automatically detected Songs from my PC’s Music library and i was able to play them from the device itself – 🙂

5 Free tools to Lower/Dim Screen Brightness even more! Reduce Screen brightness even less than minimum (Mac/Windows 7/8.1/XP/Linux)

Recently , my laptop had gone under the screws as its LCD screen had been damaged and I duly replaced it from the Service center, but later as I found out it was extra bright and even the minimum brightness of the same was too bright and was hurting eyes . Monitor Bright by Jockersoft

Monitor Bright by Jockersoft is a small tool/utility which does the job as promised! and that too quite efficiently! and for a surprise its just of mere 18 kB size! . The exe requires .Net Framework 2.0 installed which is almost already installed on all recent Windows Systems released after Windows Vista, so its as simple as Download,Extract and Run! . After executing you will see a small icon in the taskbar which can be used for configuring the brightness as shown alongside You  can set your brightness reduction % in any values between (0-100)  [Higher the value you select more dimmer the screen will be ] 🙂

Click here to Download Monitor Bright by Jockersoft.

Our Screen are somewhat made to light as the sun , but looking at the sun at night would do nothing except harming your eyes 🙁 . Keeping this in mind, flux automatically adjusts the color tone (Colors scchema) of the screen according to the Day time so as to you get the optimum color experience and believe me – The Night experience i got from flux simply mesmerized me 😀 . hence , included it in this list. besides this flux has inbuilt movie mode so as shadows , colors are preserved and you can even customise it according to your conveniences plus its free! App No 4. Dimmer by NelsonPires.com (Windows XP/Vista/7/8/8.1)

Dimmer was the first app which i used to dim my screen brightness, and it functions well except for the fact that the Taskbar isn’t dimmed 🙁 , except this the app is really great as its just 12 kB in size, consumes less resources and is light. Dimmer requires .Net framework to be installed and is simple to use, Just download, Extract and use. Opening the Dimmer.exe automatically dims screen brightness and minimizes itself to the taskbar , you can right-click on the taskbar icon and click on configure – and now manually slide the slider depending upon the level of screen brightness required! and it features live preview so you can watch the opacity level as the slider slides.. thus enhancing the precision :).

How to Quickly Identify or detect font from Image online! using these Websites | Detect & Identify font present in Image

Previously, i had covered the method on how to detect Font present in a Website/Webpage , however it may happen you see a beautiful Image/banner/photo and might like to use the font present in it , but Image editors on opening fail to detect such texts present/embedded in Image 🙁 . In such cases too, there are tools which will help us to find the embedded text as well as detect the font from it! 🙂  let’s have a look on how to identify/detect font present inside image online! detect font from image online using two websites 🙂

WhatFontis.com is an awesome and easy to use website which helps in detecting the font from the image .

    • All you have to do is either upload the image through the computer/mobile by clicking the “Browse” button , or simply specify the direct Image URL and click on “Continue”  button. You will be redirected to  a page shown alongside.

We also, have an alternative to WhatFontIs which is covered later in this post, till then you can give a try to WhatFontIs here.

Website 2. MyFonts – What the Font

WhatTheFont tool provided by myfonts.com is yet another easy to use website which helps to detect Font from an Image. The Method to detect font too is very similar to WhatFontIs –

    • Select the Image from computer/mobile by clicking the “choose file” button, or directly specify the direct image URL of the image of which font is to be detected .
    • After entering either of them, click on the “Continue” button, you will be asked to enter the text from various highlighted portions of the image.
    • Now enter the text which is present in the highlighted portion in the blank box alongside each image.
    • If the highlighted portion doesn’t contain any text or is a combination leave it blank .

Once you are done with all the images,  Click on the “Continue” button present at the bottom of the page.

Thus, the procedure is almost exactily similar to WhatFontIs .  but the results of both sites can be different! and in most cases the sites will get the Job done 🙂 .

3 Ways to find & Detect Font of Website or in a Webpage

Recently I was browsing through the Line friendconverter site and i really liked the font name, and wanted to add it to my PC . but i had to search around a bit hence thought of writing an article on finding the font of website so as TechApple blog users need not to roam around for doing the same. so here are the Best 3 Methods to find font of website which i found better 🙂 .

Method I : WhatFont Chrome Extension

This is my most preferred method and me being lazy loved it . All you need to do for finding the font of website is –

    • First of all, install the WhatFont Chrome extension and hover the mouse pointer over the text part of the website whose Font you want to find .
    • Whatfont will display a box showing the Fontface name, Family,  Size as shown in the alongside Image.
    • Incase if it doesn’t show up Simply click on the “f?” button on the addon – bar and perform the Hover method . Easiest way !

Click here to download the WhatFont Chrome Extension

Method II : Using Font Finder Add-On for Firefox
Not all users will be using Google Chrome, Firefox users too have an addon for Firefox – Font finder which can be used to detect Fonts on the Website which is currently visited. For detecting font using Font Finder

    • Select the text of which Font is to be found and right click on it.
    • An image similar to one shown alongside appears , select the option “Analyze Selection” and you will be shown a dialog box showing the Font Name, Size, details etc that too in flash seconds.

Method III : Using the Bookmarklet – Fount by Artequalswork

The above discussed methods work for either Chrome or Firefox, it may happen that you are a Safari or IE or any other Browser user and you want to detect the font of the website, so there’s a solution available for other browser users too – A bookmark is provided by Artequalswork – Fount which will help in finding the font.

All you have to do is add their bookmarklet to the bookmark bar, navigate to the website of which font is to be detected or determined , and click on the Fount bookmark , and magic! it will show the Font face name, family as well as the size! and it works on all Browsers – Safari, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, IE 8+ .

Click here to visit the add Bookmarklet page of Fount

Note : In-case if you want to detect / Identify font present in an image, you can read the postMethods to detect font from Image

These were the easy methods to detect the Fonts used on a website , while most of the time these tools will work , if however if they don’t work we can use the methods used by developers for Font detection purpose – Firebug and Webkit. I will be writing an article with detailed instructions on using the same , but mostly the above tools will save the day ! 🙂 . If you have any doubts/queries do comment also if you know of any other such tool or method feel free to comment, we will really appreciate it 🙂
