I seriously doubt how far these ‘eWallet services’ will be allowed in India. RBI imposed many restrictions on Paypal operations ( of course it is money transfer service). as per RBI, You can not keep your money in Paypal wallet. You should withdraw them within 24 hours. It is because ewallet company is not paying you interest on your ‘deposit’ ( the reason told at that time)

same thing might happen to these India ewallet services as well.

Hello Kalyan, thank you for sharing your views, well these e wallets have emerged after this year’s union budget which encouraged these macro banks which operate on mobile number etc hence newer entries like the ones discussed above as well as airtel money have emerged more strong.the recent alliance between airtel and Kotak mahindra bank confirms this 🙂

        / these macro banks/

        Hello Chaitanya,

If the term ‘bank’ is used ..I guess… they must be paying interest on the amount kept in the ‘eWallet’. There shouldnt be any problem if that is the scenario. There is huge potential in the ‘eWallet’ area as the online purchasing are multiplying day by day in the country !

Yes Kalyan, you’re right and they are paying interests too but just teaming them as cash backs, etc that’s what I feel :). Ya there is a huge potential in future for ewallet as mentioned by you.

It there a maximum limit for single transaction through these e-wallets. I know that the maximum spend per month ranges from 10k to 20k in these apps, but I want to know in a single transaction while paying.
