Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) is a first-person shooter video game that is a part of the Counter-Strike series. It was announced to the public on August 12, 2011, and is developed by Valve Corporation and their partner, Hidden Path Entertainment. The game was released on August 21, 2012, for Windows, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3. 

CSGO is a tactical first-person shooter video game developed by Hidden Path Entertainment and Valve Corporation. It is the fourth game in the Counter-Strike series and was released for Microsoft Windows, OS X, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 in August 2012, while the Linux version was released in 2014. The game pits two teams against each other: the Terrorists and the Counter-Terrorists. Both teams are tasked with eliminating the other while also completing separate objectives. The Terrorists, depending on the game mode, must either plant the bomb or defend the hostages, while the Counter-Terrorists must either prevent the bomb from being planted, defuse the bomb, or rescue the hostages. There are nine game modes, all of which have distinct characteristics specific to that mode. Many people who play the game Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) can become addicted to it, it’s like a HellSpin! This is because the game is very exciting and can be very challenging. Players who become addicted to CS:GO can spend hours playing the game and trying to improve their skills.

The Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) Major Championships, commonly known as Majors, are Counter-Strike: Global Offensive esports tournaments sponsored by Valve. The Majors were first introduced in 2013 with Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. The Counter-Strike Major Championships feature the top teams in the world competing against each other for a chance to win a share of the $1,000,000 USD prize pool and the Valve-sponsored Major Championship trophy. The first CS:GO Major was held in Cologne, Germany at Gamescom in August 2014. The tournament featured 16 teams from around the world and had a prize pool of $250,000. The tournament was won by Fnatic, who defeated NiP in the finals. Since the first Major, there have been a total of seven Majors. The most recent Major was held in Boston, United States in January 2018. The next Major is scheduled to be held in London, United Kingdom in September 2018.

It’s safe to say that Video games such as CS:GO are here to stay. They’ve been around for decades and their popularity only seems to be increasing. With new technology, better graphics and more immersive gameplay, it’s no wonder people can’t get enough of them. The future of CS:GO in the gaming community is looking very bright. With the release of the new Operation Shattered Web, there is a lot to be excited about. The new operation has brought in a ton of new content and features that the community has been clamoring for. In addition to that, the game has seen a surge in popularity and is now one of the most-played games on Steam. All of this points to a very bright future for CS:GO in the gaming community.
